Education

While a student senator at Kansas State University in 1967-68,
I sponsored a bill that helped construct the Wildcat’s
football stadium.
Growing up in Western Kansas, I was Student Council president
of the Colby High School student body. I’m a proud graduate
of Kansas State University with a B.S. in Math Education, a M.S.
in Counseling and a doctorate degree in Educational Administration.
Working in the Manhattan-Ogden public schools for 33 years, I
began my career as a junior high math teacher and counselor.
For 25 years I served as a curriculum director, assistant superintendent
for personnel and finance, and then as superintendent for the
2000-2001 school year. Now that I’m retired, I’m
ready to bring new ideas to the legislature and to commit my
time to working and fighting for the citizens of Riley County
and Kansas.
